THE DAY: Morning Prayer, Romeo and Tulo

Okay... so I have a lot of stuff lined up for me right now. Chinese MT. Science Quiz. Homework. Other shit. But I'll set that aside for now.

When the year started, I said that 2008 is my year. I'd just like to confirm. Hahaha! Last Wednesday, February 27, is the first of the
"THE DAY"s It was THE DAY! Wooohoo.

Alright. Let's start with the morning. Assembly. I had to do the prayer, which was assigned to me as "punishment" daw. Hahaha. It's in Tagalog by the way. I screwed it up a bit. I lacked a bit of life and I still sounded foreign. But that's alright. I did it well enough and Ms. Martinez was really happy so I'm happy na rin. Woohoo!

Skip what's after that. Anyhow, today was the day of the Romeo balcony speech elocution contest. Well, after my 99, Mr. Perez recommended me to audition as class rep. I was chosen (after a horrible audition)... which made me dead pressured. I wanted to do it... but I didn't want to at the same time. Some kind of pressure got over me and made me really nervous starting from the ride home the night before. It only got worse as the minutes progressed. I really got nervous.

I want to admit. I was not the least bit nervous for the oral test... one of the reasons I didn't practice before my turn. But this contest really had me dead scared. However, once I entered the lecture hall, it all disappeared. There's some magic about the hall that took most of my fears away. I was still nervous... but not scared na.

Anyhow, after wearing my costume and went backstage. I saw Juliet... ang ganda niya. Her name is Ms. Amelia Marcelina. Hahaha. And then she noticed me and said, "good luck." Hahaha. I replied thanks. And then I asked Charles, CJ, Kim and Mark about my costume. Hahaha. Ayos na ba? Pantay na ba? Tatanggalin ko pa ba toh?

So yes. The contestants got me scared. I was number 4 pero number 1 pa lang was very good. (Syempre, same critic eye pa rin.) So I got more nervous. It reminded me sooo much of my failed Filipino extemporaeneous speech contest (about cell phones). Nightmares! Hahaha.

Anyhow, number 3, Javi was on, and he entered from the back! DAMN! That ruined my blocking. The night before kasi during FX practice, I was pseudo-blocking na. Come from the back and pass through the left aisle. So I went oh well.

So after a few more of his words, I went out na to the backdoor. Mrs.O wished me good luck. So I went inside the lecture hall, behind the backdoor curtains. They called my name. Took a few seconds for me to come out so that they can wonder where the hell I am and so that I can shove my nervousness away and get into character. (I almost forgot to take off my glasses.)

Then I ran in. Woohoo! That was it...I started out dynamic and then went slower to add more seriousness and make it more romantic. Hahaha. What I remember. I went in. Leaned on the last row. Took a look at the stage, went low and then back up. Smiling, I ran down to past halfway pillar. Exclaimed! And then next pillar and then in front of the stage stairs. Then on the stage na. (wow memorize.)

While doing it, I was energized. Why? My entrance got some kind of weird reaction from the people, which sparked something into me. Hahaha. When I finally finished, I ran backstage but was called back. I guess from all the excitement, I didn't hear their interview questions. The first one I heard was Where's u get ur gimmick? I was like what the hell is a gimmick... so I answered nothing or something like that. I dind't hear but Kim and Germs say that they asked Where'd I get my costume.

I'd like to thank Charles Lim for my cape and gloves and the Stage FX bodega for my polo and vest. And to CJ Francisco for making recommendations. Hahaha!

Anyhow. When I went backstage again, all my nervousness disappeared. I was at peace na and that was good. And I smiled... in my opinion, my performance was beautiful... I had voice problems though...couldn't be heard from the back...and when I was done I felt like I was shouting. Anyhow, whatever. I was satisfied.

What really made me happy was the interview portion after the 5th contestant. They interviewed Juliet. Who's your favorite Romeo? "I like Marcelo." With an accent. Hahaha. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, I can lose na! Hahaha. So yes, the costume helped a lot. Hahaha!

Anyhow, with all the drama shoved aside, the same critic looked at the contestants. I found Ramon's and Flint's one of the ones to beat. Ramon... made it funny, I didn't like how he did it that much since it became really modern and kinda... i dunno... but then I got a liking to it. Wow, it's the best actor of grade seven. Flint's was really, really, really good! Ang lakas ng mga emotions, ng acting, ng paggalaw. But his voice was sobrang shit! Hahaha. I was already thinking to myself, I can only lose to them.

After a long, long, long time. The results were announced. I was tied with Ramon King! Hahaha. 2ND PLACE!! Woohoo! Yeah baby! Okay na okay na okay sa akin ang second place.

What was a shocker to me... (I can't accept defeat? Hahaha!) is that Tim won. Honestly and in all frankness, I didn't see anything special about his performance. No offense meant, just stating my opinion. I wish Flint had placed though. (Tangco took the last spot placing third.)

Anyhow, I'm happy na. After this, kodakan with Juliet! Hahaha! (see the album. i wish i gave my camera to someone while i was performing.)

Okay so Tulo. Yes! Part three of my THE DAY! Hahaha.

We've never had a single FULL run. The practice the night before was HELL! And I was never able to get a hand of handling the Elephant. I still lacked life for the Deus practice. The set was jsut recently changed for Oli. And to add to all that, I had to leave early pa.

And then we crammed the final sequence just the afternoon before the show. Grabe. I was scared to hell. Paano na? Paano na? But I just kept positive. By this time, all of the nervousness never returned... weirdly. I only felt a little scared mostly because I kept thinking positive and because my character called for me to be really really perky!

Anyhow, it went soooo much better than before! Deus did well enough and I'm very relieved about that. Kahit na last minute ang casting ko at kakaunti ang practice dahil na-ground nga ako, I feel more at ease.

I am very proud of the play that's most closest to me--Oli. Ang galing galing galing! VERY PROUD! Lalo na kay Geremy. Hit ang kanyang debut! Hahaha. It was really splendid! It was funny and it also got the deep message across so I really liked it. (syempre ba naman, this play is the closest to me, bakit di ako masisiyahan/mabi-bias? hihihi)

And elephant. This is the most last minute casting part. Hahha. I really had no idea what I was doing it. Hahhaa. But it turned out well. The awe of the audience was the thing that really hit me. So I'm very happy working under the covers of this one. Literally.

And finally... Bohemian went well enough. I screwed up a bit but it was okay. Enjoy pa rin.

Grabe, ang saya that was all over the stage by the end of the show. hahaha! FX LOVE! One of the minor reasons why being in FX is the best... the HIGH! Woohoo. I'm really really happy now for Germs and Allen.

When we went outside daming tao! They were all really, really lively... mukhang enjoy na enjoy. Personally, compared to Duwa and Chocolate War, the crowd was never as lively as this. Sobrang buzz na buzz. Hahaha! (But Duwa's high was much higher than TULO. TULO beat Chocolate War though. Hahaha!)

I got some comments... cute ko daw. I got so happy. Ibig sabihin I did well enough. I know I can do better but at least it was believable enough for the audience. But i was mosst happy everytime hinahanap/cino-comment si Geremy. Sobrang saya ko sa performance niya! Ang galing! Hahaha! Uyy! Star ka na... Little Big Star (accdg to Mr. Yu)

Anyhow. Dinner. Fixing up. Hahaha. I was able to catch David Archuleta's performance. GALING! Hahaha. UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! Go Pinoy! Ramiele's was quite bad though... in fact, not a single girl wowed me tonight.

Grabe. This was THE DAY. Amen! Alright, 2008!

PE, Academics, Career Fair, Elections and Assembly

Before I start with the real topic, here's some unrelated news about academics.

We had our second Practical Test in PE. Honestly, this is the best PE I've been to. Hahaha. I'm so happy because Ms. Raya knows my name unliek other people. Wohoo! Hahaha. Anyhow, I had my "kodigo" of exercises so it wasn't too hard. I even helped others. And she knows I know the exercises. Wohoo!

As for the LTs. I almost got perfect (with incentive) in Science! I just needed two points. Waaa! Chinese: line of 9! Yeah! Also, for the oral test which was a video--drama and toursm video--she liked my performance so that's another high score. English: almost perfect din! Waaa! Hopefully, Mr. Perez accepts my considerations. Hahaha.

However, my math and soc sci scores are really low. I need to bring them up. Waaa!

So here's the real story: Career Fair. One wednesday afternoon, right after the boring Caliraya orientation, I went to Mr. Young. Instead of having Peer Faci, we'll be servants daw to the speakers of the H3 Career Fair, as such, we can sit in daw. Hahahaha.

So I did sit in. After delivering water with ehem to the different speakers, i was escorted into the Performing Arts room since nahihiya ako. Hahaha. So yeah, halos sa middle of the speechna ako nakapasok. There were a lot of speakers. hahaha. Okay... so I found out they do a lot of things in there. And you have to join Dulaang UP as practicum.

After that, the bell rang. And I met up with ehem and Mr. Young who gave more instructions. So the second period bell rang na. I wanted to go inside education.... pero puno na and too late. Nakakahiya namang mag-dramatic entrance. So I didn't go in na.

Dahil wala naman kaming ginagawa, we went to the h4 guidance room and looked at the yearbook. Grabe ibang-iba talaga ang mga mukha nina Allen at CY. Iyong iba, halos pareho lang. Hahaha.

Then, Msr. Young told us to wait by the media ed for the doctor who's giving a speech. So yes, ehem left to assist the psychologist while i waited for the doctor. Anyhow, he came. I met the doctor... he was friendly, gave water then I left. And then, I sat in sa communication arts room.

A photographer and alumni was the speaker. After what he said, I wanna take that course na. Hahaha. Parang gusto kong mapunta sa advertising business. Hahaha! If not, there's a whole lot of alternatives. Hahaha.

The problem is CommArts or CommTech is only available in Ateneo. UP doesn't have it... the closest I found was integrated into Performance Arts or Education.... and I don't really like. (Weirdly, those two courses were the talks i went to or wanted to go to.) But I wanna go to UP since mas interesting ang lugar tsaka i'll see new faces that aren't Xaverians or ICAns. nO offense though. Hahaha.

So what do you think?

In other news: The assembly was interesting. We had the miting-di-avance. Dustin screwed up his speech so sayang! The results were in... and according to Jona. President is Joe Chan. VP Internal is Martin de Joya. VP Internal is Bow (Sana nanalao si dustin. Nakakainis!) No one won AO (sayang si Harveen!). and TJ lost to Wayne as Batch Rep by 12 points lang. SAYANG! INIS!

But before all of that, I was called by Mr.Legs while I was in line. I was going to make the announcement. So after the cool video made by TQ, I went up. Screwed up a bit. But I delivere it nonetheless. Exit. This is the gist of what I said:

WATCH TULO!

Tickets are now available. Only P50... reserve na and get em on Tuesday!
The show is on Wednesday @ 5. Friday @ 7:30. Lecture Hall. BE THERE!

I got punished for working hard... and the fruit of my labor was sh*t.

at 5:53 PM

Friday, Caliraya and Grounded.

I miss blogger's auto-save. This is the second time I'm typing this down. Sigh. Multiply kasi eh! Hahaha.

Anyhow. AI NEWS: I'm soo sad! Joanne Borgella is gone! Those Americans... how discriminative! Aren't they fat too? Joke! But I really like her! That aside, she must really be friendly. All the girls were crying when they called her name. Lalo na si Ramiele! Todo-iyak...

In other news, I've watched Sweeney Todd na! Thank god for the internet! Wohoo. Ang galing! It was beautiful. But I didn't like how fluid the blood was. The color's just fine... then again, I'm part color blind. Also, there were some parts I didn't understand, but it was all good! Woohoo! Hmmm. So what else? Right!

I went to the derma yesterday. I tagged along with my mom and tita while they were doing errands. Boring. And then we went to Conti's for lunch. Yum! And then we went to the derma. I had a facial... it was all good till they started pricking my face. After that, they poked hard on the spot and then scratched it. Sakit. And then they injected three of my pimples. Hahaha! But it wasn't as painful as Trisha used to describe it to be. Hahaha!

Anyhow, I'm so lonely. I kept imagining last night how everyone's enjoying FX Night while I'm stuck at home. *sigh* Nakakainis kasi eh. I'm grounded. So just so you know, here's the story. But I'll start from the very beginning: Caliraya.

So I woke up early... which is apparently still late. I arrived in school at 6:33am. Buti na lang the bus hadn't left pa. Wahaha! As usual, I fell asleep... that was when we were in SLEX na.

I woke up when we took a stop at Shell. I bought (the wrong flavor of) Mentos, Pepsi Max and Yan-Yan. The Yan-Yan was fun: it had quotes. My first one read "child of the night"! Hahaha.

So I was awake the rest of the trip and took blurry pictures all the way. Hehehe. We finally arrived. After much compliments, laughs and landscape photography (check the album out!), we went to the site na.

I planted one tree. Kung di ako naunahan ng iba, I would've planted more. Anyhow, I took a lot of macros of a single flower till I finally took the perfect one. Haha! And then we advanced peeps took pics by the rocks in the area. Vain din pala si Mr. Q. Hahha!

Anyhow, we went to the bus na. More landscape pics. And then we went to the Japanese Garden t eat lunch. Grabe! Ang ganda talaga dun! More landscape pics! What's amazing there is that it's so authentic: there are actual Japanese people! (Tourists from Japan) Hahahaha.

After much photo ops, it started to drizzle hard so Jona, Kevin, Mic and I went to the shade downstairs. Everyone else were upstairs. They enjoyed the "striking vista" daw. But I rather miss the photo ops than be drenched in the rain. Anyhow, I was also able to feed a dog while down there. Naging tourist attraction ako! Woohoo! Hahaha. But someone scared the dog away with flash. Damnit!

Well, we left na. And I was about to doze off already until I turned to my right and saw Karl was asleep na. PEEEECHURRR! Woohoo! Natatatawa talaga ako sobra. Hahaha. I took sooo much shots of him. But that was only half of it: when I turned to my back: the whole bus as asleep. Wooohoo! Revenge!!! Hahaha. I took pics of everyone. Prized pics are: Ariel, Nicanor, Andres, Jus, Sean, Caloy and JONATHAN! Hhahaha.

Extra talaga si Ryan Sy. Kala niya--------------. Tuloy, naging silang lahat with his flash! Grrr. Anyhow. I took a rest for 10 mins. Then my fellow paparazzi--Mykee and Matt--told me they're asleep ulit. So Wooohoo! Tulog na rin si Ryan soo.. HIHIHI! After this, I went to sleep with a hood para safe ako. Hahaha!

So we arrived back at school at 5. We were going to do the exhibit na. When I got to he lecture hall, everybody escaped. :| So there. This is the start of my troubles. I was stuck with Ezra and we were still lacking cartolina. So he offered to buy since he had a driver. (Iniisip ko is this a trick)

While he was gone, I made gulo Mic Lim, Jeremy and Mrs.X habang they were putting up the tarp. This is around 5:30 na. I looked at my phone. And I saw missed calls and a text. My dad was there na raw. But I didn't have load so naki-text na lang ako kay Michael. Sinabi ko hindi pa ako tapos and I'm not sure what time pa I'll be done. He asked about tutor pero I told him I dunno na kung makakapunta pa ako. At this point, I assumed he went somewhere na while I'm still busy.

So then Ezra arrived. We started working. Xientia people doing their boards. CY and friends playing loud music and dancing. Mga 7+, I checked my phone again. I had a missed call and a text. The text said go out na. Pero I couldn't go to Mic Lim, so I started giving Ezra final instrucitons and finishing the last of what I was doing para makaalis na. And then, Mic Lim goes to me and shows me a text: "Go out now or go home by yourself."

Syempre naman sino'ng di matatakot nang ganyan? So I gave Ezra very, very simple instructions on what to do. Then I ran to the car.

Pagpasok ko, nag-apologize ako. Tinanong niya kung nasaan ang cellphone ko. I brought it out, he grabbed it and threw it to the back of the car.... Sermon. Next thing I know: "You're grounded. No extra curricular for the whole week. From school, you'll ride the school bus going home right away." and then... "I'll give you back your cellphone when I feel like it."

Syempre ang tindi ng hinanakit ko riyan. I mean, what first struck me was ung No ECA. Buti sana kung FX iyong pinuntahan ko... pero hindi 'eg. Iyong exhibit iyon! SCIENCE CLASS IYON! GRADE YON! Makikita yan ng lahat ng taong papasok ng exhibit. Tingnan mo ang advanced, ang pangit! And then you think it's just eca. D'un talaga ako nainis! Iyong part na I get punished for being hardworking.

Anyhow, I calmed down over the week. Nangulila lang ako sa cellphone around mge Wednesday na. I'm like I'll get my phone pang music... wala nga pala akong phone. I'll go text mic kasi di sya sumasagot sa ym... wala nga pala akong phone. I'll just set the birthday... wala nga pala akong phone. Pampalipas-oras na game na nga lang.... wala nga pala akong cellphone. :|

Anyhow, I'm lifted tonight. One week anniversary. He gave my phone back na this morning. Yehey. Sayang lang talaga ang FX Night. *sigh*

It seems like I won't be able to finish my goal of blogging about everything. We'll just see. Hahaha.

By the way. The exhibit: It's shit. It's crap. The Sunday after, I was already telling Michael Lim about how much respect I have for Ezra na. I take it back. When I saw what he did Monday morning. I went berserk! Ang layo sa mga instructions na binigay ko. Tinatanong-tanong ko pa sa kanya: "Okay, you didn't follow my instructions. And I know you don't have a sense of style as you keep repeating. But didn't you even wonder na mukha siyang pangit?" Grabe talaga ang inis ko noon. That's the sad part. I got punished for working hard... and the fruit of my labor was shit.

Romeo and Juliet Oral Test and American Idol

Wow. I'm actually watching American Idol. Hahaha. Unlike last year, I now am!

I'm amazed by the Filipinos on the show. David Archuleta << He's good. He keeps amazing the judges din. But his being Filipino isn't advertised a lot. Maybe it's because one of his parents is only half or something like that.
Ramiele Malubay << ANG GALING NIYA SOBRA! SOBRA TALAGA! Hahaha. I really like her! And she's Simon's favorite tonight. Wahaha!

My other bets are... Jason Castro, Michael Johns (ang galing ng Bohemian Rhapsody niya!), Joanne Borgella, Asia'h Epperson, Alexandrea Lushington, Syesha Mercado and Alaina Whitaker.

In other news, this will be the start of the series of blogs I'm doing over the four-day weekend. I need some catching up to do on all the blogs. Hahaha. (why does this remind me of Paul's Singa blog?) There's Varie, Fair, LTs, Caliraya, and around 1 or 2 more I'm forgetting. Hahaha!

So this one's about my oral test. 99 baby! Wahaha!

So as most know, the oral test for all the second years is the balcony scene speech from Romeo and Juliet. Hahaha. Honestly, most of it all was done last minute. I only found the perfect costume the day before. (Thank you, FX!) I only really practiced the night before. Hahaha. So I'm really proud of what I've done. I even had some "lighting." LOL!

Weirdly, I'm the only guy who didn't practice out in the corridor. Partly because I forgot that I'm near since I was having fun watching. And partly because I wanted to make sure that the tranny cardboard Juliet was laid to rest during my speech... Why so? Because she's distracting and because I imagined she'd be in a much taller balcony. (There's a part in my speech when I reach for her so I can't have her on the same level as I am.)

Anyhow, as usual, I've the lowest score-giver for the oral tests. Most are in the line of 8s meaning my score-giving is really low compared to the other orals. After the first few, I really had to adjust since the scores were quite low even if I myself fell they deserve higher. Only 3 are in the line of 9. That's Jona, Tim and Kurt.

If I were to recommend who'd go on to the batch contest, I'd choose: Kyne, Julian, Kerwin, David, Kurt or Timothy to be a representative.... but they have to memorize first! Why didn't I choose Jona? Something about his facial expressions.
So sad Kerwin and Tim weren't in the people recommended. Kerwin didn't memorize kasi! But he's a shocker...I didn't expect him to do well. Tim did it more modern which is why I think he didn't get in.
It's a shocker to me why the people I expect to score high didn't do that well in my opinion: Jan, Sean, Ariel and Cabs. (but Mr. Perez recommended some.. don't remember which.)

Honestly, I don't agree with how Mr Perez grades people. I mean he praises the people who I think lack facial expressions and sound like they're in a declamation contest rather than an actor in a theatre. I really take note of the voice and how the eyes move, but he still seems to praise those I don't like. Hahaha. I just don't know. I kept giving low scores to most of the people he praised. Hahaha. But I can't totally disagree... some we're really good! (but needed to memorize!)

Anyhow. 99. Wohoo! I'm sooo happy! Yun nga lang I can't help but think sooo much about his comment: address the audience more. I keep thinking to myself... then I'd be breaking the fourth wall. Hmmm. Sigh.

FAULT
The Broken Sonnet

I should have closed the window. Opened lights
I am wrong. I should have stayed true to you
There was ne'er anyone so leave their rights
My own hand that tapped. Not a problem, true
You never failed me. It's I that failed you
Don't take it on yourself. It isn't your--
It's mine. Promise, I'll stay solemnly true
I broke your heart. I will do it no more
I feel so embarassed. Depressed. So true
'Cause I never intended so to you.

Just don't leave. Just don't go.
Please.
